Infield Parking Disruption of Service
As most of you know by now, the Infield Parking site is down at the moment. This was caused by a disruption of service by our hosting provider. The outage has nothing to do with new platform being built. A holding page with the message below will be going up tonight.
Dear Friends of Infield Parking,
As you may know we have been working on overhauling our site and will soon be launching an entirely new platform chock full of new features, functionality and attractions, many of which were suggested by our members.
While we are within two weeks of launching the new site, we have been unexpectedly forced to shut down the old site due to a disruption caused by our hosting service.
We apologize in advance for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.
We will be using the Infield Parking blog to post updates about our progress with the new platform.
The Team at Infield Parking
I am heading to the airport and will be back online tomorrow morning. I will be able to approve comments and respond then.

Wow, I was wondering what was going on. So, will IP be down until the new site is launched, or just for a couple of days. And, if you can, why exactly was the disruption caused?
Thanks for at least putting up the holding page and keeping us updated. I know that this was fairly unexpected for you guys. I, and everyone else, supports you and all of your guys’ and gals’ hardwork on the site.

Wow, wow, wow. No site for this weekend’s race, that really, really, totally stinks. The biggest race of the year, and no freaking site. Amazing.
This situation reminds me of when the site switched hands last year and what happened then. I hope you guys get your stuff together and get the new site up as fast as you can, because I know I’m not going to be the only disappointed person to post here tonight, and I hope we don’t get the run around yet again like we did last year about what’s really going on here.
I was really looking forward to BD’s race thread this weekend too.

The timing of this “disruption” is impeccable….

I was wondering what had happened. First my cable company cut off the channel that NASCAR is on last week and didn’t get to watch the Shootout. Then I couldn’t access the website tonight. I actually thought it was me but I see that it wasn’t…..LOL
That’s alright I can wait and hopefully by then I will have Dish Network so I can watch the Races again…….Thanks for the hard work Mike and I can’t wait until it is launch to see what it looks like.

Well I am sure glad that I am starting my nine day vacation today and have better things to do than be on this website. Like partying with all of my IPR friends who are about to invade Daytona Beach! It is going to be a FUN week!! Hopefully this site will be back up and running by the Cali. race!
February 10th, 2009 at 07:31
OMG, Bob who cares! Anyway, for those of us who cannot go to Daytona, we were looking forward to being able to post on a brand new site for the race. Sorry this had to happen to you guys, Mike. I hope it all gets worked out soon.

Good Morning…Sounds like a good time to start my spring cleaning..to bad it isnt spring yet..lol
My question is regarding our background codes we currently use on IP..will the new platform effect the codes? In other words, will be still be able to use our codes for backgrounds after the new install…?
Also..will IP be back before the shut down for the new install? I am sure you are going to be asked that questions alot…
Good luck to all the drivers at Daytona this weekend. LETS GO DALE JR..

Thanks for everyone’s comments and support. We (Infield Parking team) had a scheduled meeting tomorrow after which, I will have more information to share on the platform status.
@Coz4littleE I am working on a seperate post about the “My Parking Space” or profile page. With the addition of all the new features there will be many changes.

When you launch the new platform, will I have to reset everything that I had up in my parking space. Will it affect the background codes, the photo codes, the graphic codes, & the music player codes that we are using for Infield Parking. Can we use the same codes that we were using before.

Will our original pages and pictures be saved?

Will we have to re-register? And when will the new site be up & running?
February 10th, 2009 at 19:12
Well, honestly, IP has been so dead lately, it doesn’t really matter that it’s down totally for a couple of weeks. Most of us do have other sites to go to. Don’t get me wrong, I love IP and all my friends, but that’s life. Thanks for all the hard work, and keep us posted!
February 10th, 2009 at 20:50
Mike..thank you for your reply. Waiting to hear about our codes that we use for our backgrounds on our parking space….. I can not imagine starting over trying to figure out a code that works to make our pages look cool…
February 10th, 2009 at 23:50
Wow..gotta tell ya..everything was looking really good. And then this???
Season Opener, and IP is down. Who’d have thunk it.
Pardon my sarcasm, but this site has sure gone through some hell, and to see it be down the first race of the year, well, gives a whole new meaning to “in 3 months”!!
I wish ya’ll the best, and hope someone can finally get a clue!!
February 11th, 2009 at 08:48
Thanks for all of the comments so far. We are currently trying to work out some of the details that you are asking about. I will have more information later today and tomorrow regarding the status of the of data on the current site and when the new one will be ready.
February 11th, 2009 at 10:54
I wanted to know if we will still have a profile page, & can we use the same backgroud codes that we already have? Can we also use the same codes to put pictures & graphics & music players in.

I knew something wasn’t right… I will be happy when everything is back up…

To all those workin on the new IP,
I cant wait to see the new version and hope that it is better than ever. I’ve been there since the beginning and lost interest when the hampsters took over. But I promise to return…I really enjoyed being able to “meet” new people with a common interest besides from groups on Facebook or MySpace. I don’t care how long it takes for the site to get back going as long as it works. Then we can all get back to the fun we had.
Thanks for all the hard work.

I see that the address has changed for the Infield Parking, LLC. IP is moving in the right direction, it seems.
The new site should be a lot better than the old one.
